Lush: Father Christmas

So, I'm writing this post from my new iPad. No idea how its going to turn out. So fingers crossed. Also, if anyone has an app recommendations post them below :)
I went a little mad with the lush Christmas range, pretty much bought one of everything. I'll try and work my way through them and get them all up before they sell out.
First up is the Father Christmas bath ballistic, I think this one I,particular would make a great present.

The outside is a lovely red and white Father Christmas face, with a hint of some red glitter. The ballistic is scented with mandarin oil and orange flower giving it a real Christmas satsuma smell.
The initial fizz of this is a nice light pink colour and more glitter bursts out.

As the outer layer fizzes away, this amazing vivid Christmas green colour comes pouring out. At this point as well the satsuma scent is quite strong, but still really nice!

The end result is a gorgeous bright green satsuma scented bath with some lovely red glitter in.
Unfortunately I ran my bath waaay to hot and it made me feel a bit ill. So I had to get out and couldn't enjoy my bath for as long as I'd have liked to.
I'll definitely be stocking up on this one before it leaves stores.

The only downside is the glitter does stick to the bath so you have to give it a bit if a rinse afterwards.
But other than that I really recommend this one and can't wait to try more of the Christmas range.

Have you tried anything from the Lush Christmas range?

Lots of love

100 Followers & 100th Post Giveaway

So I've reached (and passed) 100 followers! And this post coincidentally is my 100th post!
Pretty cool, huh?
Well anyway, i thought I'd have a little giveaway, to say thank you to all my lovely readers and followers.
I cant quite believe I've reached 100 followers especially as I've been the worst blogger over the summer.
I'm hoping now, everything's settled down a bit, I'll be able to start getting back into the swing of thing properly (I've said that a million times but i actually mean it this time! haha)

So to celebrate this little milestone, i have some goodies for you, from one of my favourite shops. You can probably guess, which one. I've chosen some of my personal favourite products, and also one new product, well new to me, not new to the shop.
Want a peek?

Lush!! Did you guess correctly?
In the goody bag, will be;
- Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter, and
- Sugar Scrub, Body Scrub

I've linked Sunny Side & Dragons egg, as I've already done little reviews on them. Lemony flutter I've been using for a while, not as a cuticle cream, but as an intensive foot cream. After i have my cast off (from breaking my leg) I had the most hideously dry feet, and this worked an actual treat! I couldn't recommend this enough, especially if you've had a cast on.
The sugar scrub, is something I'm yet to try, i did buy one for myself while purchasing this lot. The lovely girl in the shop helped me pick this one out, and it sounds like a really great product. She suggested breaking it up into four pieces, to maximise the usage. But she said you can use it all in one go if you want a really hardcore scrub.

Entering will be simple, all you'll need to do is fill in the rafflecopter form below. But as usual there are just a couple of teeny rules.
Play Fairly.
Have Fun.
Open To UK Only. (Sorry)
Once a winner is chosen they will be notified, if no reply after 4 days, a new winner will be chosen.
Once the prize is posted it is no longer my responsibility, it will be in the care of Royal Mail. I will ensure all items have sufficient packaging to reach you in an acceptable condition.
You need to be a follower of my blog.

The Giveaway will be open for 3 Weeks and will end on,  October 17th 2012.

Again thank you, to all my readers and followers.
And Good Luck Everyone.

July Empties

I've got through quite a few things this month i think,

A mixture of things this month, a couple of lush products, body shop hair care and skin care.

 Body Shop, Raspberry Ripple Bath & Shower Gel;
LOVED this product, will definitely repurchase it, the scent is amazing! it lathered up really well and you only needed a tiny bit, so it lasted for ages.

Lush, Phoenix Rising Bath Ballistic;
I'll put an individual review of this product up. But i really loved it, will definitely repurchase it. Smells amazing.

Lush Space Girl Bath Ballisitc;
You can read my review on this product here. I don't know if I'll repurchase this one. I'd like to try out some other bath bombs before i add it to my definitely repurchase list. I really liked the smell, but it wasn't as exciting as some of the other bath bombs.

Lush GeoPhyzz Bath Ballistic;
You can read my review on this product here. Like i said in my review i might repurchase this, just to see if freshness has any effect on the scent etc. So i will probably repurchase this, though i don't know if it'll be a regular repurchase.

Percy & Reed, Totally TLC Hydrating Mask;
Again this is another i will write a stand alone review for as part of my hair care mission posts. I won't be repurchasing this product, although it left my hair quite soft, i didn't particularly like the smell, and didn't really notice a lot of difference in my hair.

Sure Deodorant;
I'll probably be repurchasing this one, thought it worked well and quite liked the scent. I've just purchased the new Dove Maximum Protection deo, so i may or may not buy this one.

Olay Essentials Face Wipes;
Got these in a swap, really liked them, they are really plain and don't have much scent. I wont be repurchasing these but only for the simple fact that, I'm currently half way through a packet of Soap & Glory face wipes, and i have already bought a new packet of face wipes. With a product like this, I'm not one for sticking to a particular one. Just whatever i fancy or whatever is on offer.

Dermal, Royal Jelly Sheet Mask;
Again you can read my review on this product here. I'd love to purchase this again, but i have NO idea where you can get them from, I think i might have to have a little search on ebay. I've never seen them in shops before!

Balance Me Moisture Rich Face Cream;
I shan't be repurchasing this, although i liked the cream to begin with, i don't know what happened but my skin just ended up feeling quite greasy, and i began to dislike the scent of it. I'm started to go off Balance me products a bit, i initially love them, but then end up disliking them.

Benefit Foamingly Clean Face Wash;
Really liked this, i love the clean soapy smell of the benefit skincare. I think my only bad point would be that, the product was really hard to get out. Its quite a thick creamy wash and the tube is made of hard plastic, so was near impossible to squeeze out. I don't know how the full size version is packaged but hopefully not like this. I feel i may have wasted quite a bit of product just trying to get it out. I would repurchase this, but i wont for a while as i have a few face washes to get through.

Figs & Rouge Balm;
Now this isn't technically an empty, it's actually nearly full.  But unfortunately, the balm melted and though when it was set again it was fine to use it just wasn't as solid as it used to be. But i opened it again the other day to use, and its gone horrible and like gluey, like someones filled it with almost dry glue its all like sticky and rubbery. So I've had to throw it out *sad face* I expect i will be repurchasing this as i really liked it. I'd like to try the rose one or maybe the Cherry Vanilla one.

Elemis, Pro-Collagen Body Cream;
I will definitely not be repurchasing this EVER. I thought it was a really nice moisturiser, its a nice consistency and has a lovely smell like most Elemis products. But its FULL of glitter?! Why oh why do they put so much glitter in products, and why doesn't it warn you. Normally you can tell if a product with have shimmer in it, as it will say something like 'radience boosting' or 'brightening' but no, this lures you into to thinking it'll just be a nice luxurious body lotion. Boooooo.

Asda Little Angels Detangle Shampoo;
I'm pretty sure I've mention it many times, but I'll say it again. I'm allergic to shampoo or something they put in adult shampoo. I'm not some crazy weirdo that likes to buy baby toiletries! This has the nicest ever smell, ever. Its all like powdery and baby like, with a subtle hint of baby powder. The actual shampoo itself isn't great, its one of those that doesn't lather well, and i found myself having to double wash my hair most of the time. The good thing though it didn't irritate my scalp. Probably won't repurchase this.

L'oreal Ever Pure Shampoo & Conditioner Sample;
Meh, don't really know what to say about this. Don't really know if you can tell if it makes much difference to your hair from one wash? the smell wasn't amazing, and is it just me, but i find sachets really hard to open in the shower? Probably won't repurchase the full size. Though i might check out what else is in the range, and if they're ever on a bargain offer you never know.

So there we go, July empties. I'm sure before i know it it'll be time for august empties! Time just seems to fly by!
What products have you finished up this month?
I'd love to see.

Lush; Space Girl

Lush's Space Girl bath bomb, is one of their cheaper bombs in the range. Costing £1.95, its a good sized bomb, in shape of either a planet or a UFO i can't decide which it is. They have a light coating of red/gold glitter on.
They also contain Grapefruit, Bergamot & Almond Oil, I don't know exactly what it smells of, but its sweet and yummy. The bomb also contains 'Space Dust' which is popping candy, and i didn't know this before, but to get the full effect you need to put your head under the water, apparently. Though i could still hear it from above the water.

The actual bath bomb is a fair size, its not huge, but it also isn't tiny. it didn't take to long to fizz away, and left the bathroom filled with a lovely sweet smell, and the water a gorgeous lilac/purple colour.

Compared to some of their other bath bombs, this one may seem a little bit boring. The popping candy is a nice twist though and its very reasonably priced.
I would definitely purchase this one again.

Have you tried out Lush's Space Girl?

Lush; Geophyzz

This bath bomb was a strange one. I received it in a swap so didn't really know much about it. On the website there are a lot of mixed reviews, some people not liking the smell, or what it actually does in the bath.
I personally didn't find the smell that bad, though with mine it wasn't very strong and i think possibly it may have worn off, as I've had it sitting around in my room for a while. once in the bath i could barely smell it, so i definitely think it had worn away.
The scent, is meant to be like a pine/mountain/forest fragrance. It contains Cypress & Sandalwood Oil as well as Pine & seaweed Absolute.

a surprising element of the bath bomb is the fact it contains Hawaiian Sea Salt, and not like unnoticeable grains of salt, ohh no, this has like chunks of rock salt in it. I didn't realise this until i got in the bath, and was like 'What The..?!' i should have taken a photo of what this looked liked, it was crazy, they looked like chips of glass, i worried a minute that they were, and my bomb had be sabotaged haha. they do eventually dissolve away. But if you don't know they're in there, its a bit of a shock.

The colour of the bomb is kind of muted green colour, so it doesn't really change the water that much in colour.

I'd probably buy this bomb again, just so i can see if a fresh one makes any difference with the scent, and next time I'll definitely be ready for the rock salt at the bottom of my bath.

Have you tried the Geophyzz ?

Lush; Blackberry Bath Bomb

You must know by now i am OBSESSED with lush! I got this bath bomb in a swap, I'd not smelt the Blackberry bomb before, but I'm so glad i got it, it smells, well, Lush!

This is the bomb, its a good size one, and has a really strong scent. Compared to some of their other bombs, this one is pretty simple, Blackberry, Bergomot & frankincense. Just a plain simple bomb, or so i thought.

As soon as you put it in the water there is an explosion of fizz, and the water starts to turn a gorgeous purple colour.

The bomb had a few of those darker purple bits in, I'm not really sure what they are and they soon disappeared, so i guess they are just bits that take longer to dissolve.
I was just about to climb in, when i noticed something at the bottom, i thought i must have accidentally dropped the label in or something, but when i pulled it out, it was this....

Now that's the lush i know! I thought this bomb was a little bit plain! It was a nice little surprise, and it did actually make me smile!
The only down side to this bomb, i felt like i had to shower afterwards, i felt a bit like i was covered in a film or something, i just felt a bit slimy, that might not necessarily be the bombs fault, I'm not sure. But that would be my only moan.
Otherwise i love it.
Blackberry Bath Bomb is also only £2.90 so its one of the cheaper bombs.

Have you tried this one?

Lush Haul

This is two trips to lush in one so it looks like i got quite a bit! Its mainly bath goodies, but I'm trying to explore lush a bit more, and venture into their skin care and body care etc.
Here's what i got...

- Happy Blooming
- Rocketeer
- Moon & Sun
- Phoenix Rising
- Lemony Flutter
- The Comforter
- Sunnyside
- Eau Roma Water

I will blog about everything individually as and when i use it. But basically the bath bombs/melts/bubble bars, i just pick up because i fancy them. The Comforter i smell every time i go into lush, but i just couldn't justify the £4 something that it costs, The other day i gave in and bought one, I'm hoping i don't love it to much!

The Lemony Flutter Cuticle butter, I've been reading a lot about it lately, and i just fancied trying it. The guy in lush was really helpful, and was saying that you can also use it as an intensive treatment for hands or feet. Its ridiculously thick, it is literally like butter. The intensive treatment kind of sold it for me, since i had my cast off my foot has been disgusting, its so dry you'd think it'd been living in the Sahara desert for a year. So far so good, I've used it twice and already my skin looks better. It smells amazing too, really really lemony, with the tiniest hint of almost a chocolaty smell, it has Shea butter in it & bees wax.

My little delve into skin care consisted of, Eau Roma Water toner. I actually saw this on EssieButtons YouTube channel, i think in one of her favourites videos, and after speaking to the staff in lush decided it was the best one, my skin gets quite dry, and i always have red patches. This toner has, Rose Water and Lavender Water in which help calm and soothe. My other skin care purchase was The Moon & Sun steam tab, I've tried these before and really liked it, its like a bath bomb for your face. You drop it into a bowl of hot water, and put a towel over your face and steam, inhaling the essential oils. Afterwards you can store the water, and use it as a toner!

So that's my Lush haul, like i said I'll blog about them all once I've used them and let you know what i think.

Have you bought anything from Lush lately?

Lush; Fluffy Egg

This was one of my purchases from Lush after my Face mask workshop, part of their Easter collection the fluffy egg is a neon pink bath bomb, that smells AMAZING. The lady in the shop said it has the same smell as the Christmas product 'Snow Fairy' I had it in my room at uni for a couple of weeks before I could use it, and every time i came in my room my could smell its candy flossy goodness.

Fluffy Egg is an averaged sized bath bomb, and is priced at £2.95, for a treat I'm quite happy to pay that and i know some people break them in half and such things to get more baths out of them, i may do this with my 2nd one just to make it last a bit longer. So anyway, i popped this in my running bath and this was the beautiful surprise i got....

The colour was amazing, and the smell coming off the hot water, just filled the bathroom with sweet candy scents it smelt good enough to eat. If you aren't a lover of mega sweet scents i wouldn't recommend this, it isn't for the light hearted haha.
The egg lasted a good while, and by the end my bath water was a gorgeous hot pink colour, which lasted the whole bath. It also didn't stain my mums white tub, (which i think is always good to know)

So, i highly recommend this bath bomb (if they are still available) I'm not sure if it was a limited edition, quite possibly as it was for Easter, though its still available on their website.

Have you tried a fluffy egg? or anything from their Easter range? I'd love to know :)

Lush; Face Mask Workshop & Mini Haul

So, you might already know this, but Lush have collaborated (is that the right word) with Clipper Green Tea, to offer Free face mask workshops (though technically not free, as you have to buy the tea, but its cheap) I literally hunted every supermarket where i live, looking for the promotional packs, and i eventually found some on Tesco. I've never had green tea, so i opted for a lemon one rather than plain, I don't know if I'm a fan of green tea or lemon green tea. I had to put milk in mine, as i didn't really like it to begin with, is milk a bit weird in green tea? It looked weird! But it tasted better with a little milk. But oh well this blog isn't about green tea, is about lush.
So yeah i went along to the face mask work shop, and thoroughly enjoyed myself, they recommend bringing a friend *which i didn't* but i still very much enjoyed myself.
There was 5 of us in the group. We started off, putting our names on stickers and writing down how we wanted out skin to feel at the end of the session, i chose the word 'nourished' as my skin is always dry.
We then got introduced to the ingredients that go into some of the face masks, like glycerine and almond oil, some weird seaweed (Irish moss maybe?)  We got to smell them and touch them and even taste some of them (glycerine) That bit was really interesting.
We then got to get our hands dirty making our own Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask! this was great fun, adding all the ingredients into big bowl and mushing up blueberries!
Once the mask was finished, we partnered up, to do a cleansing routing inc, face mask. There was a range of products to choose from which was good, as they catered for every skin type. The products that got used on me were;

- Ultra Bland Cleanser £6.45/45g £10.25/100g
- Breath of Fresh Air Toner £3.75/100g £7.00/250g

I couldn't believe how my skin looked when they'd finished, my skin hadn't looked so fresh and glowing since i did beauty therapy at college and i was getting a facial nearly every week! I was Honestly amazed! If i could of afforded to i would have bought every single one of those products!
Another great thing about the evening was, once all the pamper was done, we got to have a little look around and pick up any bits we wanted. It was like personal shopping. I went round and literally sniffed everything in the shop! The new Easter/mothers day bits had come out only the day before so there was lots of new things to look at. There no hard sell, like there sometimes can be, it was really relaxed and enjoyable, everyone felt at ease just having a wonder, even if they didn't buy anything (though i think most people did) The girls that work in the Taunton store are SO nice and friendly, I'm yet to go into a Lush store and have a bad experience.

I picked up a few little bits, we also got a couple of samples and a massive pot of our face mask! By massive i mean like twice the size of the normal face mask pot. (you'll see in the pictures.

So this is my mini haul of all the things i got...
(you may also notice my photos are much better quality than normal, this is because i actually bothered getting my camera out, though i didn't go the whole hog and use my DSLR just my little Fujifilm digi)

All My Goodies

Yummy Face Mask!

I'm a little bit addicted to Lush bath products, especially bath bombs & bubble bars! This is Space Girl, it smells a little bit zesty, but with a teenie hint of parma violets. It also has glitter and popping candy in it! I'm going home for Easter in a few days (where i have a bath tub!) So, once I've used it I'll do a little review and let you know what it was like. £1.95each

My second choice was this, Fluffy Egg from their Easter range. We were told this has the same smell as the Christmas Snow Fairy, So if you're a snow fairy addict, but cant wait till Christmas for your next 'fix' grab one of this. They are literally Neon pink, and smell sickly sweet! Again, I'm home soon, so will do a review once I've used it. £2.95each

My first Sample... Creamy Candy Bubble Bar, this is my actual favourite! You can see my review here. But honestly it smells so good you could eat it! I'm SO pleased with this sample, i didn't even know it was this, they just popped it in the bag when i paid. So it was the best surprise! Its a tiny little cube, but it bubbles so much I'm sure it'll be plenty for one bath. I cannot tell you enough how good this smells, I've been keeping it in the bag in the lush carrier under my desk, and every time i walk into my room its the first thing i smell, I've temped to buy one just to keep my room smelling sweet! Full Size £2.45each.

My last sample, this was a cheeky ask at the till, but they were very happy to let me have them. These are Chou Chou I love You toothy tabs, i thought these were a limited edition for valentines, but they are still available in store and online12g

I highly recommend grabbing some clipper tea, and getting yourself down to Lush for a face mask work shop, they are really great fun, and you might come away with goodies, and lots of knowledge on their products!

whats your favourite Lush product?

Lots of Love
