Lush: Father Christmas

So, I'm writing this post from my new iPad. No idea how its going to turn out. So fingers crossed. Also, if anyone has an app recommendations post them below :)
I went a little mad with the lush Christmas range, pretty much bought one of everything. I'll try and work my way through them and get them all up before they sell out.
First up is the Father Christmas bath ballistic, I think this one I,particular would make a great present.

The outside is a lovely red and white Father Christmas face, with a hint of some red glitter. The ballistic is scented with mandarin oil and orange flower giving it a real Christmas satsuma smell.
The initial fizz of this is a nice light pink colour and more glitter bursts out.

As the outer layer fizzes away, this amazing vivid Christmas green colour comes pouring out. At this point as well the satsuma scent is quite strong, but still really nice!

The end result is a gorgeous bright green satsuma scented bath with some lovely red glitter in.
Unfortunately I ran my bath waaay to hot and it made me feel a bit ill. So I had to get out and couldn't enjoy my bath for as long as I'd have liked to.
I'll definitely be stocking up on this one before it leaves stores.

The only downside is the glitter does stick to the bath so you have to give it a bit if a rinse afterwards.
But other than that I really recommend this one and can't wait to try more of the Christmas range.

Have you tried anything from the Lush Christmas range?

Lush; Sunnyside Bubble Bar

I was drawn to this bubble bar, just for the sheer amount of glitter on it, literally you can't even look at it without getting glitter everywhere!

You can see on my finger how easily the glitter comes off. I'm afraid this is the only photo i took of this one! I totally forget to get photos of the bubbles!
I used half the bar, as its a fairly small one, but its absolutely solid, i don't know if that's just mine, normally the bubble bars are really easy to crumble. This was like trying to crumble a rock, and i was half tempted just to throw the whole thing in.
I did eventually get it to crumble, and like other bubble bars, it produced plenty of sparkling bubbles, the glitter in the water is a nice touch. Though it does make the bath a funny yellow wee colour, which is slightly off putting.
It has a yummy citrus scent, of oranges and lemons and loads of essential oils, it was nice to relax in.
This bubble bar is £3.50, its fairly small you'd probably only get 2 baths out of it, it was easier to crumble you might get more. I'd still probably purchase it again, just because i love the smell.

Glitter EVERYWHERE!

NOTD

For my nail of the day, I've attempted graduate glitter. I'm was surprisingly pleased with the results, but couldn't manage to get a photo that did it justice!
To create the look i used,
Maybelline, Express Finish, 40second Polish In Turquoise and L.A Colours glitter polish

I found the Express Finish, a really watery consistency, and it painted on quite streaky, two coast was sufficient. But i really had to be careful no to go over the same patch.
The glitter pay off in the LA colours isn't amazing, but it was good for the effect i wanted.
Is started by painting a tin coat over the whole nail, i then gradually added more coats, but starting from further up the nail each time, so it gave the graduated effect.
I didn't notice till after I'd painted my nails but the LA colours glitter is actually gorgeous, I thought it was just turquoise glitter, but it also has bits of green in there as well, it looks really good!
This was the finished look....

Have you tried any different nail looks this week?

NOTD

I couldn't resist using my new nail polishes, so I have repainted my nails, using my new Orly Polishes...

The base colour i used Orly 'Be Iconic' I did 2 coats of this, it has great coverage and beautiful finish. I actually noticed, that on the nail it looks like it has tiny bits of green glitter in it!
On my ring finger, i have done 3 coats of Orly 'Shine On Crazy Diamond' I found that i got more glitter if I kind of dabbed the polish on rather than sweeping it. It does make a great top coat!

Hope your Like them!

Orly!

The other day the Lovely Lainey LuLu (The Life & Times of Lainey LuLu) bought to our attention that cheapsmells.com were doing 2 Orly Miniatures for the bargain price of £3.95 (and free delivery)! If you've read my previous posts you'll know i LOVE Orly nail polish. You could pick any colour from a large-ish choice, and then the free colour would be a mystery! I chose a polish called 'Shine On Crazy Diamond' it actually took me about half an hour to decide, and lots of googling imaging. But i decided on this one, which from pictures looked like a silvery/holographic glitter polish.
And today, i got a lovely package in my post tray!

Sorry About The Blur!

I tried to capture the holographic-ness as much as i could. So the bottom polish is the one i chose, the top was my mystery free polish, i am actually amazingly pleased! I was a bit worried they were going to pawn us off with a colour no one ever buys. But no, This is such a beautiful summery colour, its called 'Be Iconic' and its definitely a colour i would have picked myself! I love both of them, i also think they'd both go really well together!

Left; Be Iconic Right; Shine On Crazy Diamond

So these are the swatched, Be Iconic gave really nice cover even after one coat, but did two just to make it fully opaque, it glides on nice, and has a really nice pearl finish.
Glitter polishes are always a bit of a gamble i think, you can never tell, The picture of Shine On Crazy Diamond is after 3 coats, its not crammed with glitter, but i think it'd make a really good top coat. The pieces of glitter are really tiny. I don't think you'd be able to wear this polish on its on, so I'll definitely be layering it over other colours.

Did you take advantage of this great offer? What mystery colour did you receive?
