I don't really know if this is a post you want? But i feel like i should update you on my progress.
So, 7 weeks ago i slipped and broke, mainly my ankle, but also my Tib or Fib? i cant remember which is which, but i broke which ever is the skinny one.
On Friday i had my hospital, to get it xrayed, check it was healing ok, and hopefully progress to putting weight on it and perhaps start some sort of physio.
Well, bad news. i got to the hospital nice and early, so i could be first in line for my xray. When the Dr called in me into his little examination room he had my xrays up on the computer screen, and examined them for like 10 minutes, he then had to go and get someone else! which is never good! They decided that, one of the bones hasn't mended properly/is in the wrong place. But they weren't sure if it was just the angle of the xray, so i needed to go for an CT scan, as that would give them a better picture.
me and my mum waited an hour! possibly more, for my scan, only to be then sent back to fracture clinic and made to wait another half an hour until the doctor saw us again, from the scan he could see the bone wasn't right, but was unsure what to do about it. So he said he's referred my case to a foot and ankle specialist, and he'd ring me sometime in the week, with options.
The only option the doctor told me, was to have my ankle broken again, so they could re-set it back in the right place! pretty much putting me back where i was in APRIL.
So now I'm just waiting for that phone call. Which hopefully will give me good news, but the way the doctor seemed, i do think I'm going to have to have it broken again. Which is very annoying.
I'm still not allowed to put any weight on it, and I'm supposed to be going on holiday next week. I suppose the only good thing is that i don't have a cast on it.
So that's it, I'm just waiting now. But if you'd like i will update you.
