YaY, I Won!

I was lucky enough to win, the lovely Charlotte's (Carlottas Beauty Spot) blog giveaway.
Her blog is full of great posts and product reviews. I love the photography on her blog, her pictures are also so well lit and clear! I highly recommend checking it it out here.
So i bet you're all dying to see what i won, I'm SO excited about it....

So, my prize included; Maybelline Illegal Length Fibre Extension Mascara. This mascara claims to give an instant lash extension effect with no flakes. I cant wait to try it! and one of my best friends has come down on holiday today, so I'm sure it'll get plenty of use this week!

I also got, not one but TWO Revlon lip butters, you may know from previous posts i am in love with Revlon lip butters, they're fast becoming my go to lip product, and if i remember rightly from the competition post these colours aren't available in the UK? (please correct me if I'm wrong) the shades i got are, 001 Pink Truffle & 085 Sugar Plum. I love the colours, and i think these products will also get a lot of use this week!

L; 001 R; 085

My final part of the prize was something I've had my eye on since it came out. Sleek, I-Divine Ultra Mattes Palette, there is two versions of this palette a darks and a brights. I got the darks, which I'm really pleased with as i think the colours in this palette are a lot more wearable than those in the brights. I love sleek palettes, and I'm beginning to get a little collection. The colours are so pigmented and they blend like a dream. They are velvety smooth, I also love the packaging, its really 'sleek' and reminds of the MAC 'build your own' palettes.

Charlotte was also kind enough to slip in a little card congratulating me on my win, which i think was a lovely gesture, as it makes the win a lot more personal and shows she had really put a lot of effort in to the prize.
I couldn't be happier with my prize, products I love, products I've been lusting after and a new product to try. I cant wait.
I'll try and do a FOTD or at least review the mascara etc.

A massive THANK YOU to Charlotte for such a generous prize! And make sure you head over to her blog (link at the top) and say hi!

Have you won any blog giveaways recently?

Glossy Box; June 2012

My Glossy Box arrived while i was on holiday, and since i've come back, i've just been in holiday mode, My blog has been neglected & every other routine has sort of gone to pot. I've been back a week now, so i think its about time I get organised again.
So finally here is my June Glossy Box.
Now i've looked at a few reviews of this months box, and i think i've only seen 1 other person with the same box as me? I know each month there is always a box people brand the 'duff' box. But have a got the good box this month? I feel like its a rare box haha. Let me know...?

This month, EVERYONE recieved the GlossyBox branded goat hair brush. I have SO many make up brushes, this one isn't the nicest, but it certainly isn't the worst. Its feels a little scratchy, and i find goat hair brushes smell a bit funny. But if it does the job, does it really matter? I do like that its a nice compact size! I'm not sure i agree with £15 price tag.

Next is a BM beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer, I think this is another item everyone got in their boxes. If you've read some of my other posts, you'll know i'm quite in love with BM Beauty products, so i was pretty happy to find this in the box. The products are so versitile and can often be used as not only a what their intended for, but also a Eyeshadow/bronzer/blush. Its a 1g sample, which is loads. This is a gorgeous summery glow! and would also be perfect for creating a subtle day time eye shadow look. (i forgot to swatch it, but will try and add it in a bit later)

Now i dont know if everyone got this item, but apart fromt he bronzer i think its my other favourite.Yves Rocher France, mini mascara, ultra-volume sexy plump. I  love love love the effect this mascara gives! It seperates my lashes beautifully and doesn't clump. It definitely does plump! I already have naturally long lashes, this mascara just gives them that extra something. I would definitely contemplate buying a full size!

Vichy, dermablend ultra-corrective foundation cream stick. I'm pretty sure everyone got this sample in their boxes. I think this is a great sample! you get a selection of 6 colours, each one is 1g. If its a product you were looking at getting, or just interested in trying. The sample pack is great, there's enough product in there to try it out for a fair period of time. There is also a good selection of colours. I believe the sample pack is for sale, as it has a bar code on the packet. A full size foundation stick is £19.00/12g

The last thing i got in my box is the item that seems different from everyone else. Which was Dermalogica Clean Start Day/Night 3 Step mini kit. I actually got a bit excited by this, i LOVE Dermalogica. But, once i actually read the box and the products, i decided that i dont really think its suitable for my skin. The kit contains a foaming facewash, purifying toner and SPF mattifying moisturiser. I think the set is meant for people with oilier skin than i have. I definitely wont be using the moisturiser, but i think i'll give the face wash a go as i love the smell of it!

So thats my June GlossyBox, did you get the same box as me?

P.s Spell Check STILL isnt working, can anyone help me with this?
Other wise i'm gonna have start typing up my posts in word, then copy and pasting. :(

No7 Fanomenal Lash Mascara

Fanomenal Lash is the new mascara from Boots brand No7. This offers, Volume, length and definition, it also boasts 100% Fuller Lash Fan?
On opening this the brush actually shocked me a little bit, probably one of the weirdest looks mascara brushes I've seen.

Is that not the most peculiar brush ?! It has like one swirl of longer bristles, and the others are so stubby you can barely see them! It immediately put me off if I'm completely honest. Even just looking at the product on brush it looked clumpy and blurgh.

 *Please excuse my awful eyebrows*
Application wasn't to bad, but i can see, that anymore than one coat, it might go a little clumpy.
I didn't think it defined my lashes that well, i found they kind of stuck together.

My lashes are naturally quite long, and i didn't find this really did much for them. (i should have done a with & without photo really) You can see in the photo above where the product has glued a clump of lashes together. I always apply my mascara from the root, with a zig zag motion to the tip.

I probably wouldn't purchase this mascara my self (my mum bought this one) as i feel, i can get a similar if not better effect, from a drugstore brand. Although the finish wasn't bad, i wasn't wowed by it either.
People on boots.com seem to be loving it, and it's gained 7 5* reviews.
This mascara is £12.50/ Boots are currently running a GWP promotion which i have talked about here.

Will you be buying this mascara?

Elf Haul

So Last week Or over the weekend, i cant remember (the sun has melted my brain) ELF (eyeslipsface.co.uk) had a great offer on, well 2 great offers. You could either choose, Free delivery AND a lip gloss or a free, 6-in-1 beauty palette thingy. I already had a list as long as my arm of stuff i wanted to get, and over on Beauty Box Swaps, we've been organising our latest surprise swaps (Jubilee Swap) So, i took advantage of the offer, and got myself some bits, and a couple of things for my secret swap. So I'll show you what goodies i got for myself, i have to keep the other stuff secret!
(I imagine my pictures are horribly glarey, i took them outside, and i cant see them properly, Its SO bright)

ELF brushes have such a good rep! I think their probably the best value brushes around, as they are pretty good quality. The regular ELF range cost £1.50 and the studio range generally cost £3.50 with a few brushes costing slightly more.
This time, i chose the Studio Powder brush, its SO soft and has a flat top so i thought it'd be good for buffing in products. The second brush i got, isn't really a brush at all, its a glitter eyeshadow applicator. It has like a heart shaped silicone top to it, which is meant to pick up the glitter and place it on your eye without to much fall out. I don't really wear much glitter eyeshadow, but i was to intrigued to leave it behind, and if it really works it'll be handy to have in my kit bag. Very interested to see how that goes.

Next up is an Mascara Primer

This claims to Lengthen & Volumise and also Revitalise lashes, it contains Pro-Vitamin B5, Hydrolyzed Wheat and Soy Protein, to help nourish lashes. I'm going to a quiz night this evening, so i might give it a little test. My lashes are already quite long so we will see how long it makes them, I never really think about eyelashes, like having to nourish them like you do your skin and hair, but i guess its just the same. So perhaps they'll be glad of some nourishment, especially in this amazing weather.
This cost me £3.50

The other thing i bought for myself is Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint with SPF 8 In Guava .

You may have noticed from my last couple of posts, I'm really into this colour at the moment, It's a really summery colour. This product has really good colour pay off, and like it says is really moisturising, the SPF in it is really handy aswell! saves having to use 2 different lip products, though the SPF is quite low.

So that's my little Elf haul.

If you haven't already looked, I'd definitely recommend checking out their website. The products are reasonably priced, they've recently updated with some new products. I've got my eye on the mineral face cleanser, looks like it could be a dupe for Dermalogica Microfoliant! They usually have some good offer on aswell.

Did you take advantage of this offer?

Latest In Beauty; Red Carpet

The much anticipated Latest In Beauty; Red Carpet Box. The thing i and i think most people love about latest in beauty is the fact you know exactly what your are getting, so you can decide to buy it or not, there's no monthly subscription and no surprises. (not that i don't like surprises, i LOVE no knowing whats in my glossybox) This box, i feel has out done the rest, plenty of full size and high end products, lots of products I've never tried/heard of, so plenty to discover...

Jam Packed Box This Month

This box is so full of goodies, its well worth the £14 something pounds i spent on it.

First up we have Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara this is full size product and seems to be one of the ones alot of people are excited about, and I'm not surprise, with it claiming this on the box... ' Full exposure provides a 104% increase in lash volume plus lengthening fibres in one to create scene stealing lashes at every angle' I've read so much about all these mascaras that have lengthening fibres in them. I haven't used the mascara yet, but when i do I'll do a blog post on it and let you know what i think. I have high hopes for this, the brand is a good well known brand, the brush looks great, and everyones been talking about it. I've not seen Smashbox in shops (I don't think) though I'm pretty sure it often features on QVC.

The Brush

Next is a brand I've never come across before Essential Care, ' 100% natural mineral colour, vitamin-rich organic plant extracts and Shea butter to enhance the natural beauty of your eyes. A pure synergy of nature and nurture.' This came in the form of a black eyeliner pencil, which is always a welcome addition to any makeup bag. This is one of THE softest eyeliners i think I've ever come across, its so smooth and silky, just melts onto the skin. Its really pigmented and easy to blend for those that prefer a smokier line. Essential care have a range of products available here, the eyeliner retails for £12.50

Eyeliner Swatch

Young Blood, i want to say I've heard of this product, but i don't know if its one of those things, where i think i know it but i actually don't. But anyway, in the box we got the Mineral Primer (5ml sample) The product feels really silky and velvety, but (and did anyone else notice this?) it smells a teeenie bit funny when you first apply it? I dunno it might just be me, I'm abit funny with smells. It reminds me alot of one of the GOSH primers. I do have a bit of a thing for primers, so I'm looking forward to using this on a night out. Young Blood mineral primer is available here for £30.00/30ml

Smooch, is a brand i definitely haven't heard of,  but i love their Vintage-esque packaging,  the pink and the lace print gives it an almost burlesque touch. The lipstick is nicely pigmented and has a lovely glossy finish, though i'm not much a of lipstick wearer, it is always handy to have a red lipstick (i am a lover of fancy dress) I've had a look through their other products and they all look really good, and reasonably priced! they have some gorgeous nail polish colours! Go have a look... here.  Lipsticks cost £7.50 and I'm assuming we received a full size, as its a good sized lipstick.

Smooch; Rocking Red
Sorry about that bad picture

Sorry about the bad quality the face mask was a bitch to photography its too shiny! I'll start with that now I've mentioned it, this is probably the product I'm most intrigued about trying. Dr Bragi is again a brand I've never heard of and what we have is a Marine Enzyme Intensive Treatment Mask. 'Professional strength marine enzyme mask, designed to rapidly target redness, dehydration, loss of firmness and signs of premature aging' Now I'm hoping at 21 i don't have signs of premature ageing, but redness and dehydration is something my skin has always suffered with. I'm yet to read any reviews on this product but I'm definitely excited to try it out. The mask and other products are available here. you can purchase the mask individually for £10 or a pack of 3 for £25.

Since I've been getting beauty boxes, I've really been getting into hand creams, and now apply them most days, often more than once! QMS Medi Cosmetics another brand i haven't heard of (I'm not very good at this brand malarkey haha) I like the simple packaging of this product though it does look slightly medicinal. It has a really nice soapy smell to it, and sinks in beautifully leaving not greasy residue, i do love hand creams that leave no residue. It also leaves my hands really moisturised, always a bonus. as much as i love this product so far, i don't think i shall be purchasing it anytime soon, at £20.00 for 75ml i think it is a bit pricey for a hand cream. The hand cream and other skincare products are available here.

Richard Ward Energiser Styling spray, this IS a brand I've heard of! Though I've never tried any of his products, again since beauty boxes hair products is another thing I've really been getting into, I love trying to new things, finding things that work and things that don't. I'm yet to try this, as I'm currently trying our my Paul Mitchell (from GlossyBox) 'My dual-action, multi-tasking spray contains heat & UV protection, Humidity Defence technology and AQUARICH®, a unique advanced moisture compound to help counteract frizz and damage and increase shine. With an All in One Vitamin Complex and energising Lime Oil hair feels strengthened with bounce, leaving you with frizz-free, no-residue, glide-through volumous hair.' Things that tackle frizz are what I'm looking for, and anything that makes my hair shinier and healthier looking! Yes Please! Available here for £19.00/150ml.

Last But not Least.... Mont-Bleau Crystal Nail File with crystallised Swarovski elements. Crystal nail files are everywhere these days, My mum is a big big fan of them, I'm yet to try one. Filing nails make me cringe a little bit and i don't know if i like the texture of this enough to try it, it seems like one of those 'nails down a chalk board' things' So i may just pass this on to my mum who i know will muchly appreciate it!.

So i hope you've enjoyed My LIB Red Carpet review, i hope you've enjoyed it.

Did you get the Red Carpet box? What were your thoughts on the products?

Lots of Love
