EOS; Alice In Wonderland Collection

I saw these on a blog somewhere many months ago, and knew i just HAD to have them! I love anything Alice In Wonderland Themed. EOS is pretty hard to get hold of here in the UK, and after a little scout on Ebay, i was willing to pay the extortionate prices on there, for what is essentially a few lip balms. Luckily, i have family in America, and they had recently asked me if there was anything particular I'd like for Christmas, THIS was top of my list, Though knowing they were limited edition over there, i wasn't sure how long they'd already been out before i discovered them. But luckily they managed to find me a packet, which i am so so grateful for, So along with a bag full of American 'candy' this is what i got for Christmas Stateside.

The packaging looks simple and cute, with little 'Alices' printed all round the edges, the rest just being plain white. Simple but effective. But, once you take the insert holding the balms out, you're treated to this...

I LOVE IT!
A cute little print of the Mad Hatters Tea Party, with the quote "Very Few Things Indeed Were Really Impossible" I'd of much preferred it, if it wasn't then printed in another language, but that can't be helped.
I am planning on putting this up in my room somewhere.

The down side of these balms, that once they're out of the packaging you'd never know they were part of an Alice In Wonderland collection, the only inkling is the Mickey Mouse head embossed into the packaging. Though that alone doesn't scream 'Alice In Wonderland' Maybe a Rabbit or a Tea Cup. But i suppose Disney have to get their mark on it somehow/where. Also, the packaging does affect the effectiveness of the products, its all aesthetic so it doesn't reaalllyyy matter. It just would have been nice.
EOS Balms are 100% Natural and 95% Organic. They are also Paraben-Free and contain Shea Butter and Joboba Oil.
The Alice Collection Included 3 Flavours...

Blueberry Potion
This smells and tastes just like a Blueberry Muffin. I though this flavour was going to be my least favourite. But i actually think it might be my favourite. The scent/flavour is really subtle and not to over-powering or to synthetic. The formulation is really nice, it not to greasy or to dry and it glides onto the lips
I haven't given them all a proper trial as to lasting times etc but I've heard many-a-good thing about EOS Lip Balms.

Watermelon Wonderland
This is my second favourite flavour from the trio or possibly equal to Blueberry Potion. It so fruity and sweet, i just love love love it. Again once the balm is on your lips, it isn't to sweet or overpowering, but it does make me want to lick it off.

Sweet Vanilla Nonsense
I think my least favourite smell from the trio. It has a weird vanilla smell almost like bees waxy kind of hint to it, which I'm not a massive fan of. Its not as bad once its on the lips, but the actual Vanilla-ness is so so subtle. Which i suppose is good in contrast to the other sweet scents.

So all in all, I'm very pleased to have Alice In Wonderland EOS Balms, I'm also very excited to try EOS balms for the first time and have already have other flavours recommended to me (i really want to try the lemon one!)

Have you tried EOS Lip Balms before?

French Haul; Part 1

Bonjour Mon Petite Pois, So i have returned from the land of wine and cheese. (dont be to jealous, the weather was pants) We had ONE sunny day, The others were miserable drizzly rainy days. But a holidays a holiday, Oui?

So i've decided to do the things i bought, in two posts. Not because i bought so much, but i just think they suit better being in two posts. a Skincare one and a other bits and pieces (mainly Sephora one). This will be my SkinCare one, I'm such a sucker for hyped products, you will have seen what i've bought on a million and 2 other blogs. But oh well, here goes.... (Apologies for the bad lighting)

The compulsory BioDerma! I've seen so many reviews of this, some people love it, some people hate it. Loads of people told me to get it, so you know what. I did. I made the mistake of not buying it, in one of the first places i saw it, in a big shopping centre the pharmacy there had a double pack for quite a reasonable price, they also had the Nuxe Lip Balm for cheaper then i ended up paying for it. Really, i should have done some research into the price, as i had no idea what was a good deal or not! But there we go, lesson learnt. Unfortunatly i cant remember, how much i did pay for these, sorry. I've yet to try the Bioderma, as i'm trying to get into the habit of finishing a product before i start a new one.
The next thing i bought, from the same Pharmacie (Pharmacy?) Was the Nuxe, Ultra Nourishing Lip Balm. I saw Estee (essiebutton) talking about this on one of her videos, saying how much she'd fallen in love with it. It contains Honey, Shea Butter and Grapefruit Essence, giving it quite an interesting smell. What i really love about this balm, is it has quite a matte finish. It also stays on your lips for ages, I put it on before i go to sleep, and i can still feel it in the morning. You can really feel it working. I laaavs it. You get 15g of product, which i think is quite alot. Making me think, though its pricey its well worth the money. I've already used it quite a few times and theres barely a dent in it.

Since getting the Caudalie, SOS Thirst Quenching Serum in a recent GlossyBox, my skin has never felt so nice. I've always suffered with dry skin, only really on my face, and i've tried so many differnt moisturisers, i tend to find heavey moisturisers for dry skin far to greasy or they just make me feel a bit ick. But this serum, wow. I was a bit dubious at first, the consistancy is so thin, i really didnt think it would make much difference. But even from the first use, my skin just drank it up. I had to purchase the full size. The Pharmacie I bought these products from was the cutest Pharmacie! It looked really old from the outside, like old fashioned. and inside everything was on display on old fashioned wooden shelves, like those sideboard things you have in kitchen & dining rooms (shelves at the top and drawers underneath, you know what i mean) And there was this really old man working behind the old fashioned till. I loved it! Why can't english Pharmacies be so quaint. ours are so clinical.
The next thing i picked up, again very very hyped about, kind of love hate. Caudalie Beauty Elixir. I dont really know what to think of this, i haven't really used it enough to form an opinion. The first thought when i sprayed it, was "this would be great if i had a cold" The smell has that kind of Eucalpytus/menthol hint to it, like someones popped a little drop of olbas oil in there. I kind of like it. whether it does wonders for my skin or not, we shall have to see.
The nice man also gave me a couple a samples, which i believe is actually the norm in French Pharamcies (again, why can't our pharmacies be like this?!)I got, Intensice Moisture Rescue Cream for very dry skin, Moisture Recovery Cream for dry skin & Moisturising Sorbet for sensitive skin. I like that he took into account what i was buying and gave me samples that would be suitable for my skin. Attention to detail.
I'll review all the products, once i feel i've used them enough to form a proper opinion.

So thats my skincare half of my French Haul. If i ever return to France (which hopefully i will) i'm definitely going to save up lots of monies, there were so many things i wanted to try.

Lots of Love

Lux Box; May

This is only the second box from Lux, and i have to say i am very impressed. A lot of the boxes seem to be getting quite samey, but this months box was full of products, i personally have not seed in a beauty box, tried or even heard of! So good job Lux!

Here's what i got;

- Di Palomo- Hand & Nail Cream
- The Rosebud Perfume Co. Mocha Rose Tube
- Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser
- Papier Poudre - Rachel Booklet
- Sensationelle - Flicktips

Di Palomo - Hand & Nail Cream

I believe, there are three different scents of this sent out, i got Fig & Grape, my mum has already nabbed this out of my box as well! Cheeky! But it does smell amazing, It smells of something I've smelt before but i just cant put my finger on it. The cream applies really nicely and doesn't leave to much a greasy residue, and it makes your hands silky soft.
The Rosebud Perfume Co. Mocha Rose Tube

I haven't opened this yet, as i currently have a mountain of lip balms on the go, so I'd quite like to save this one. You can smell chocolate even through the packaging! and its contains lots of goodness such as, Shea Butter, Vitamin E and essential oils, although the balm itself is petroleum based.

Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

I believe Murad products have featured in other boxes before, but I am yet to try any of their products. I've heard a lot about them so was pleased to see this in the box. Its also the perfect travel size for taking away (I might be going to France at the end of the month) So this will be perfect to take, as i have such dry skin i regularly exfoliate as otherwise my skin gets really dull. So i always welcome a good exfoliant. I cant wait to try a Murad product out.

Papier Poudre - Rachel Booklet

This is like those little books of sheets you get to absorb excess oil, The company has been around sine 1903! I got the Rachel booklet, which is recommended for Dark/Medium skin types, as I've have a bit of a tan now, i think I'd class myself as a Medium skin tone. The sheets contain a think layer of mattifyin powder on them, so not only do they absorb excess oil they also, help mattify by putting a little layer of powder on. This wouldn't normally be something I'd pick up, as i always think my skin is quite dry, but i was amazed to see how much oil actually came off just my forehead, though this could be down to my new fringe. So I'll definitely be keeping these in my handbag from now on!

Sensationelle - Flicktips

A few weeks ago, you may have read my haul i actually purchased some Eye Rock, which are not dissimilar to these. They are like cheaters eyeliner, you just stick them to the outer corner of your eye, to get the perfect winged eyeliner! what could be easier? I'm really intrigued as to how realistic they look, whether you could get away with wearing them on a night out. The Eye Rock ones i bought are a bit more extravagant than these, so i think the Sensationelle ones will make a good practise pack, there's five different styles to choose from in each pack and they're reusable!

So that's my LuxBox, really pleased again this month, enjoying the great mix of products and being introduced to new brands!
Already excited to see what next months box has!

Whats your favourite product in Lux Box?

Elf Haul

So Last week Or over the weekend, i cant remember (the sun has melted my brain) ELF (eyeslipsface.co.uk) had a great offer on, well 2 great offers. You could either choose, Free delivery AND a lip gloss or a free, 6-in-1 beauty palette thingy. I already had a list as long as my arm of stuff i wanted to get, and over on Beauty Box Swaps, we've been organising our latest surprise swaps (Jubilee Swap) So, i took advantage of the offer, and got myself some bits, and a couple of things for my secret swap. So I'll show you what goodies i got for myself, i have to keep the other stuff secret!
(I imagine my pictures are horribly glarey, i took them outside, and i cant see them properly, Its SO bright)

ELF brushes have such a good rep! I think their probably the best value brushes around, as they are pretty good quality. The regular ELF range cost £1.50 and the studio range generally cost £3.50 with a few brushes costing slightly more.
This time, i chose the Studio Powder brush, its SO soft and has a flat top so i thought it'd be good for buffing in products. The second brush i got, isn't really a brush at all, its a glitter eyeshadow applicator. It has like a heart shaped silicone top to it, which is meant to pick up the glitter and place it on your eye without to much fall out. I don't really wear much glitter eyeshadow, but i was to intrigued to leave it behind, and if it really works it'll be handy to have in my kit bag. Very interested to see how that goes.

Next up is an Mascara Primer

This claims to Lengthen & Volumise and also Revitalise lashes, it contains Pro-Vitamin B5, Hydrolyzed Wheat and Soy Protein, to help nourish lashes. I'm going to a quiz night this evening, so i might give it a little test. My lashes are already quite long so we will see how long it makes them, I never really think about eyelashes, like having to nourish them like you do your skin and hair, but i guess its just the same. So perhaps they'll be glad of some nourishment, especially in this amazing weather.
This cost me £3.50

The other thing i bought for myself is Mineral Moisturising Lip Tint with SPF 8 In Guava .

You may have noticed from my last couple of posts, I'm really into this colour at the moment, It's a really summery colour. This product has really good colour pay off, and like it says is really moisturising, the SPF in it is really handy aswell! saves having to use 2 different lip products, though the SPF is quite low.

So that's my little Elf haul.

If you haven't already looked, I'd definitely recommend checking out their website. The products are reasonably priced, they've recently updated with some new products. I've got my eye on the mineral face cleanser, looks like it could be a dupe for Dermalogica Microfoliant! They usually have some good offer on aswell.

Did you take advantage of this offer?

Tk Maxx & Boots Haul

After my hair cut me and my mum had a little look around the shops.
Tk Maxx has been on top form lately, especially with their beauty offerings! Packs of Stila make up, Bella pierré and Nails Inc Galore!
Here are a few goodies i picked up...

I literally wanted everything in TK Maxx, but managed to keep to these few things.
A ped egg, my mum has one of these and literally raves about it, but i just didn't want to spend £10 on one from boots, so was chuffed when they had one in TK Maxx for £5.99 and in green, my favourite colour!
And the cute little cake cases, with a vintage paisley design were just £1.99 for 60!!
I also got a set of Colour Club Glitter Polishes, £7.99 for 6 glitters and a clear top coat. I haven't been able to swatch them yet as I've already got my nails painted, but they look gorgeous. I cant wait to try them out!

Was a little pack of Stila make up, for £7.99 it contained 3 items, but one of them I'm using in a surprise swap so didn't photograph. The 2 items I'm keeping though are the Lip Colour in 06 Fiona & The Lip Pot Tinted Lip Balm in Baie.

This lip stick has a bit of a funny smell to it, but i love the colour! The tinted lip balm, is really subtle but still noticeable and again i love the colour Its also quite moisturising. I also really like the packaging its so simple, but really pretty.

Top; Lip Balm Bottom; Lip Stick

The rest of my goodies...

I've been looking everywhere for Models Own polish in Indian Ocean, and i finally found a boots that had them in stock! Models own was buy 2 products and get a free nail art pen so i also got Models Own in Hedonist, which is a bright fluorescent coral colour, perfect toe nail colour for summer! and chose the black nail art pen free (should have been £6.00) I got the new Bourjois nail polish remover as I've seen some many great reviews on it, and it really is speedy! And the lovely headband to go with my new hair, again a orangey corally colour, pretty floral very summery. My last purchase was my first ever Revlon Lip Butter, they've had so much hype around them, i tested them in boots a while back when they first came out and i wasnt amazingly impressed. But i picked up Tutti Frutti and I'm so pleased with the colour, again and orange/coral colour (can you see a pattern?) It hasn't got big chunks of glitter in like some of the colours have, i think that's what i like about it.

Revlon Lip Butter; Tutti Frutti

As I'd had a new hair cut and I've been feeling a little down lately, my mum treated me to a nice new hair dryer.

We had no idea what to look for in a hair dyer, so eventually we decided on this one, i think it was about £30.00 but it came with all the things picture on the box so it seemed like a good deal.

The dryer itself is really lightweight and fairly compact, so it'll be good for travelling. I've never really owned a hair dryer before (like i said in my previous post, i neglect my hair) so I'm a bit excited haha.

So that's all my shopping goodies. I'm very very pleased with everything, and already wanting to go back to TK Maxx to see what new things they have!
I Will Leave you with one last photo....

New Hair, New Lipstick, New Me!

Lots of Love

Glossy Box; April 2012

This months box was all about natural beauty, and natural, organic products. Even the box was 100% biodegradable!
So here's what i got....

- Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum
- Inika Cosmetics Lip Liner
- Monu Professional Skincare Rosewood reviving Mist
- Figs & Rouge Lip Balm
- Philip B Styling Gel

Caudalie Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum
'Newly-Launched ultra-concentrated serum is extremely natural and plant-based, ensuring your skin never lacks moisture. The deluxe size is also exclusive to GlossyBox.'
I've seen so many good reviews of Caudalie products, so I'm very pleased to finally get to try it. I've only tested this on the back of my hand so far, but the product feels amazing, its light and non-sticky/greasy, but so moisturising. The sample size is 10ml, but the packaging is much much larger, this was so we could get the proper application nozzle. I really look forward to using this, as my skin has really suffered since breaking my leg. So once i get everything back on track, i think my skin will be glad of the moisture boost and a little bit of a pamper.
Full Size £29.00/30ml

Inika Cosmetics Certified Organic Lip Liner
'A blend of cold pressed plant waxes, oils and natural pigments provides outstanding colour performance.'
I'm loving the Inika products, this lip liner, which i got in 04 Nude Delight, goes perfectly with the 'Lip Whip' I got in SSB. The lip liner is so creamy and blends beautifully. its got a gorgeous shimmer to it, and will be perfect for summer!

Monu Professional Skincare, Rosewood Reviving Mist
'Refreshing and uplifting mist containing natural essential oils, including Lemon, Rosewood, Clove and Clary Sage.'
On the bottle it says 'This energising mist will hydrate, revitalise and gently perfume the skin.' and it does exactly that, I've used it a couple of times and my skin really has felt refreshed after a quick spritz. It smells absolutely gorgeous aswell, it reminds me of something but i cant think what, possible Dermalogica products. Not only can you use this to refresh your face, you can use it to 'lightly fragrance the body' and also set make up. Such a great multiuse product, and not something i would have purchased, but i love it.
Full Size £11.95/100ml

Figs & Rouge Lip Balm
'100% Pure, 100% Natural & 100% Organic multipurpose balm. Excellent for soothing & naturally hydrating dry lips & skin!'
I already love Figs & Rouge after getting it in an LIB box. In GB i got the flavour Peppermint & Tea Tree, i haven't opened it yet, as i cant decide whether to swap it with a different flavour, i had a cheeky look in the box i got for my mums birthday and she got the rose one, and i know there was also a cherry one available. So i shall keep the packet intact until i know what to do. (I also have another box waiting for me at uni, which is yet to be opened) so i cant really tell you much about that scent, but its such a versatile product, it so hydrating and lasts for ages, i used my other one on my nose while i had a cold, where it got sore and chapped, the balm really helped ease that. The tins are so cute aswell, when i had it at work everyone commented on my 'fancy lipbalm'
Full Size £3.29/8ml

Philip B Styling Gel
'Philip B Styling Gel is a multi-purpose, supple, soft-hold gel that adds volume and texture, and gives definition and control to all hair types.'
I'm not really sure what I'm meant to do with this, hair gel has always to me seemed like a product for boys. Its only a small sample (15ml) so perhaps I'll give it a try and see what i can come up with. The product doesn't feel sticky like some gels can. It contains seaweed extract including Irish Moss and Aonori, it also has vitamin B5 in it. It has a real 'hairdresser' kind of smell to it aswell.
I don't really style my hair that often i just tend to leave it. But we'll see, i might use, i may end up swapping it or passing it on to someone else.
Full Size £13.00/178ml

I really loved the products, hence why i ordered 2 extra boxes! The box is such a great value with 3 full size products in totalling £26.99 just for the full size items! The price of things never really bothers me, its more whether i like the product or its well suited etc. Like i said in my other reviews i like being introduced to brands and products that i wouldn't necessarily would have looked at/purchased.
So another great box from GlossyBox, and i cant wait till the next box, out at the end of the month, it will be their 1st Birthday Box, so fingers crossed another good one!

What did you think of the April Glossy Box?

Apologies & She Said; April

Firstly my massive apologies, i haven't blogged in over a month! I think about it all the time but haven't ever gotten round to it, I came home from uni for Easter break and just got caught up in being at home, working and seeing friends, so I've kind of neglected my blog for that reason. BUT, just one week before i was meant to go back to uni (and hopefully get back into some kind of routine) , i managed to slip over and break my leg! Unlucky or what?! so for the last 2 weeks, I've either been in hospital or just feeling sorry for myself, but now, 1 operation, 3 pins and lots of morphine later I've decided i REALLY need to get back into this, i have actually missed doing it and i think it'll help pass the time of being on "strictly toilet trips only"

So to start off my mass blogging today i have a very belated April She Said Box....

Half of the brands in this box I'd never heard of, so it was really nice to experience all these brands, but also to try different products from brands I'd used before or brands I'd heard of but never tried. The Lindt egg was a delicious touch aswell :)

What I received;

- Filthy Gorgeous Nail Polish
- Comfort Zone Body Expert Kit
- Mischa Barton Luscious Lips Pink Pop
- Bellapierre Shimmer Powder
- Bharti Vyas The Ultimate Therapy Face And Neck Polisher
- Erno Laszlo The Hollywood Collection (bonus item)

Filthy Gorgeous Nail Polish
' Combining rich cremes, delicate sheers and crystal 3D glitter pigments all worked into a long wearing, high shine, high pigment professional quality nail polish formula'
I receive shade 'Vampish' I've never heard of this brand, but I'm quite impressed. so far I've only swatched it so i don't know what the longevity is like, but the colour goes on really well, i think (don't shout at me if I'm wrong haha) that it might be similar to Nail Inc Victoria shade. The swatch in the picture below is just one swipe, so the colour would be pretty opaque after 2 coats. I love it!
Full size 10ml £9.00

Comfort Zone Body Expert Kit
' Get your body beach ready with the Body Strategist Cellulite Remodeller which has a thermogenic action, D-Age Body Cream and Fruity Peel Exfoliator. Once the hard work is done relax and indulge with Tranquillity Cream, Mediterranean Shower Gel, and Vital Leg Cream.'
Comfort Zone featured in the last She Said Box (here) I've used the night cream a few times, i liked it, i wasn't wowed by it. So in this little set we got 6 10ml sachets, I'm yet to try any of them yet. But hopefully they'll be a bit more exciting than the Night cream was.
I do like the cute little bag it comes in though :)
Fruity Peel Exfoliator 150ml £24.50
Aromasoul Shower Gel 200ml £19.95
D-Age Body Cream 200ml £48.00
Body Strategist + Remodeller 150ml £40.95
Vital Leg Cream 200ml £32.75
Tranquillity Cream 200ml £58.25

Mischa Barton Luscious Lips Pink Pop
'Luscious Lips by Mischa is a rich, hydrating lip protector with a hint of flattering colour. this luxurious gloss combination protects with SPF15 and hydrates with vitamins to make your lips extra kissable.'
I was quite excited about this product, i didn't even realise Mischa Barton had bought out a make up range, so was really looking forward to trying it. I was a tiny bit disappointed though, the colour i got was pink pop, which in the pot looks like a really nice natural pinky colour, i swatched the product on my hand, and they weren't joking when they say 'a hint' literally the tiniest hint, if that, it took about 3 layers to make it noticeable to the human eye. Another thing i didn't really like was the smell, its not repulsive or anything it just reminds me of the smell of PlayDough. Overall this product just reminds be of something you'd get in like a little make up set as a child, I'll still probably use it as i like the fact its moisturising and it has an SPF in it, so it'll probably live in my handbag or my beach bag.
Full size 8g £12.00

Mischa Barton Swatched.

BellaPierre Shimmer Power
'Using 100% pure Mica powder, these beautiful shimmer powders will provide long lasting, vibrant colour.'
I think this is the product i was most excited about (apart from the chocolate egg) I've been dying to try BellaPierre for so long, every time i go to TK Maxx i eye up the sets in there. So i was a happy bunny when this turned up in the box, its also such a wearable colour which is great 'SP003 Champagne' Like it says the colour is intense and the shimmer is amazing! i couldn't be more pleased with this product, and will definitely be adding to create my own BellaPierre collection!
Full Size 2.35g £12.99

BellaPierre 'Champagne'

Bharti Vyas The Ultimate Therapy Face and Neck Polisher
'this Face and Neck Polisher contains walnut shavings that gently exfoliate and cleanse the skin, whilst helping to correct any skin imbalances.'
Again never heard of this brand, I've tried this product and i wasn't wowed, it just seemed like any other face scrub I've used before, there wasn't anything particularly special about it. That might just be me who knows?!
Full Size 125ml £22.50

Erno Laszlo The Hollywood Collection
'Featuring 5 New products based on custom formulations taken from the archive and updated with the latest skincare technology,'
This set featured in some of the, i think Harrods edition GlossyBox, it looks like a nice set and you got 5 little sachets to try, I've used a couple of them and so far have been impressed, though i shan't be purchasing any due to the MASSIVE price tag!
Ava Gardner, instant eye repair 0.5oz £85
Marilyn Monroe Morning Beauty Rescue 1.7oz £95
Katharine Hepburn Intensive Porcelain Veil 1.70z £140
Grace Kelly Refresh Moisture Infusion 1.7oz £125
Greta Garbo Velvet Night Cream 1.7oz £175

So that was my She Said April box, i apologise for the very delayed review, overall i was semi impressed with the box, i like the range of products and the different brands, and i look forward to next months box.

I'll try and get my blog posts more regular again :)

Lots of Love
